temperatures back into the upper 80s. a few of us will touch 90. currently 71 at reagan national. a lot of 60s off to the north and west. 65 in hagerstown. 64 in frederick. 73 the winning number in ocean city if you're lucky enough to have another day down at the beach. should be great down there. and 70 in fredericksberg. and a lot of quiet out there. high pressure continuing across the washington area. so more bright sunshine today. a little more humidity than what has been around the last couple of days but not anything compared to july and august levels so it will still be plenty comfortable out there but hot with highs in the upper 80s to about 90. cold front toward chicago, that will cool us down later this week. i'll have more details on that in a couple of minutes. but a lot of sunshine and 89 your afternoon high. more details in the forecast in a minute. we'll look at tropical storm hermine as well. >> tucker, thank you. >>> to a developing story in montgomery county. the ramps from i-270 to and from old georgetown road and rock ledge drive are closed with police activity because of a

with that devastating fire in virginia. thanks for joining us. i'm shawn yancy. >> i'm brian bolter. three homes in virginia badly damaged. now we're hearing what it was like for the man inside the house where the fire started. fox 5's bob barnard with this one. >> it was a tense two hours or so in that manassas neighborhood as fire quickly spread from one house to another. you're about to hear a voice from inside the home where the fire started, but first some of the others who couldn't believe what they were seeing. >> 911. where is your emergency? >> there's a house burning in sumner lake. >> reporter: it's just after 3:00 thursday afternoon. a house on tillett loop in manassas has caught fire fanned by strong winds. the flames quickly spread. 911 calls begin flooding prince william county fire dispatchers. >> i'm out hire at tillett loop in manassas. there's a house -- here at tillett loop in manassas. there's a house on fire. >> can you tell where the fire is? >> it looks like it's in the rear of the house. >> like the deck or something? >> i can't tell. i'm down the street and i mean it's

you for getting up early with fox 5. i'm steve chenevey. glad to have you along with us. we do have a problem at one intersection in northeast d.c. this morning. watt anterior cross the sleet street has eastern avenue at bladensburg road shut down. police say they are also hearing reports of basement flooding and homes without water. crews are working to fix a 16- inch water main in that area. we'll bring you an update as soon as we get more information into the fox 5 newsroom. >>> right now, tony is back with another check on our weather. everybody is back at school today. i think folks in virginia too. >> they went back yesterday and so today, we'll see another morning where it is okay. the conditions to head to school are okay. more clouds this morning. some of you out to the west may encount are a few showers here or there. at reagan national, the current temperature is 75 degrees. relative humidity is 66%. that is not bad. wind are out of the south. this is showing out cloud cover that comes through and than some of those showers. now, this overplays it a little bit. there are
